Senior Project

•October 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

So today I was working on my senior project. I’m building a website and I’ve been using www.webs.com temporarily until I get an actual host for the website, and I wanted to implement some ideas that I had been reading about in a book that my teacher let me borrow:

But I’m kind of depressed, because I found out that with www.webs.com you can’t create .asp web pages, and you can’t create them on bluehost.com which is the hosting site that I was planning in switching to. These asp scripts aren’t necessary, but would make the website that I’m trying to make pretty cool.

If you know of any free websites that allow you to create .asp web pages let me know, I need to know one!

Busy Busy Busy

So I haven’t really had the time to blog lately, and I really don’t have the time now either so this will be a short update, but so far school (for the most part) is going well. My only struggle is my AP Statistics class, which hopefully I’ll understand soon. I’m pretty stressed out about college applications too, I have an appointment with Wake Forest next Tuesday for an interview, I’m really excited. Lots of HOSA events are coming up soon, I’ll post photos!

School Again

So now I’m in school again and this year has been so hectic. So far we’ve had one HOSA meeting, planned another, had 100 members join (and that’s a lot of paperwork per member), lots of AP stats homework and classwork, learning lots of coding in AP Computer Science, etc etc.

I’m so tired of trying to get organized and stuff but I am getting organized pretty quickly. I don’t have much to say because I don’t feel like blogging. Later.

I bought a D60

I finally broke down and bought a new camera. I’ve been out dated for quite some time now and decided to buy a Nikon D60. I’m really pleased with it, but the only thing is I think it should have video capability like the D90. I was either going to buy a DSLR camera, or I was going to buy a HD video camera. I figured that I would be able to make money off of the DSLR before I would the HD video camera. Hopefully I will!

Shannon News
Now Shannon and I can do our photoshoot! Some of the photos from the photoshoot we can use for our ID tags that we’re making. We’re also working on a few projects at the moment. One of them being a contest that we’re entering, another is we’re working on a skit that happened to us and we’re reenacting it.

Two Weeks Left

•July 30, 2009 • Leave a Comment

It is hard to believe that I only have two more weeks here in Mount Airy. Like my friend told me at the beginning of the summer goodbye is always bitter-sweet. I love everyone that I met here this year, we’re all like a big family. But I still want to go home and spend time with my family and my friends at home that I haven’t been able to see in weeks. I hope that next year I can come back more than anything. The pay isn’t great, but the experience is definitely worth it.

Also, I think it’s awesome how my friends are watching Shannon and my music videos. It’s pretty cool because I don’t really advertise them, I just have the video on my myspace page and she has the video on hers. Hopefully when I get back we can finish the green screen and use it for some music videos..

Short & Sweet

I’ve been in Mt. Airy for 6.5 weeks now? It really doesn’t seem like I’ve been here that long, but at the same time I’m ready for it to be over. I have a ton of things that I need to do. I still need to start applying for other jobs, I have a summer reading book that isn’t going to read itself. I have to get a mentor for my senior project. I’m co-president of my school’s HOSA chapter. ETC!

I’m nervous about the year ahead, but at the same time I have a feeling that it will be a good one.

Money Money Money

So I’m having trouble with money once again. This time it isn’t for paying for a computer that I want, thought it’s for paying for insurance that I’m not even sure if I want. I have to pay my dad 1,200$ by end of August. I have another job that I didn’t have last summer, and I’m not going to be grounded on my birthday this year, and I have a side job too, but I really just kind of want to save that extra money, or maybe not even save but use for something that would be really beneficial for me to have/use in the future. (I’m thinking Final Cut Studio, Photoshop, and a DSLR Camera or an HD camera.)

I’m also kind of freaked out that Shannon got into a wreck just a couple hours ago, and I’m not even home to see how she’s doing. I know that she said that she is okay, but I know that sometimes she would say that she is okay even if she had broken bones..

I’m also trying to relearn CSS and HTML and any other key elements when it comes to building a great website, if you have any tips/tricks post them in a comment and let me know ¡por favor!

CRK Again

•June 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Still at CRK, halfway through my first week of normal camp. Classes so far have been alright, except for my first session. I’ve met a lot of people that are really cool, and I’m going to be sad next week when they’re not here anymore. In Aquatics at the lake we made a slingshot out of man-power, it is probably the coolest thing that I’ve ever done. I even was slingshot-ed into the lake and did a few dives. Tomorrow at 4pm I will return to Aquatics and I will be swimming one mile. Two of those cool people that I was talking about will actually be rowing as my lifeguards while I’m swimming. I’m not really nervous about it, I’ve done it before, but the last time that I swam the mile I was late for dinner and started rushing and freaking out.

Tomorrow, though, will be a great day. Mike (JR) will be getting his LED lights for his car (which are temporarily going to go on the bottom of the top bunk), I’ll swim the mile, we’re going out to the infamous Goober’s restaurant, then we’re going back to Aquatics for free swim, then back out again for a Walmart run, and maybe a movie.

Other than that, there’s really nothing else to say other than I’m excited for the rest of summer.
