Sometimes I wonder about the whole “it gets better thing.” I know one day I’ll be able to look back and say “Hey, it really does get better.” But right now, it just doesn’t feel like it. How many jobs do I have to apply to before I can actually get one? Why, when I’m trying to actually better myself can I actually not find a job?
Not everything is bad, though. I do enjoy a lot of different aspects of my life.
I had a good first semester of college. I made the Dean’s List which is quite the accomplishment for me. Second semester, I didn’t do quite so hot. I got a job and Trevor, my roommate, got an Xbox and it just all went South from there.
I am excited for the new semester, though. I am going to start studying for Chemistry early. I’ve even already started. I’ve got tons of materials to print and tons of ink to waste first, but I’m getting there.
SIDENOTE: Also, I tried to be smart when printing my practice exams from the last semester by printing two to a page and not including the answers pages (which are equal length to the original since they include the questions all over again) and ending it at the last page. But if you divide 34 by 2 you get 17, so you shouldn’t print 17 pages.. I’m dumb.
Well, I didn’t even type much, but I’m done for now. PS. I think I might start a new blog, one for a business and potential income. We’ll see how that goes.
Okay, so I really haven’t blogged lately. As per usual, nothing has happened in my life lately, but I still am in the mood to tell you what little has happened.
For starters, I’m kicking some serious butt in Chemistry. Compared to last semester, I’m doing exceptionally well. I haven’t made below a 95 (knock on wood). Biology, on the other hand, is a completely different story. I’m probably dropping this class or just going to fail it and take it again next semester. i have a meeting with my advisor later this week to discuss what I should do. We’ll see how it goes.
I had a job interview last Wednesday. I call back tomorrow to see if I got the job or not. The manager told me that she likes me so I’m really hoping that I’ll get it. If I do get it that means that I might possibly be able to get an apartment next year! I really don’t care about living in an apartment next year, but I really just don’t want to have to share a room again even though I love my roommate.
I have debts to pay off first, though. I have to pay for the remainder of my computer that I purchased in October. Also, I have to repay my parents for the car insurance they paid for in Feb and I also have to start saving for my car insurance in August. I also want to get another job to make even more money, but I think it would have to be on campus so that they’d be more willing to adjust to my schedule.
I don’t know if I’ll be going home for the summer either. I kind of want to work at Hasty again that way I could get more than one job, but if I don’t get a raise then I don’t know what I’ll do. I could also potentially stay here in Greenville over the summer, but I’m not sure. Also, if I go home I can participate in studies again, we’ll see.
Trevor got an Xbox for Christmas and I’ve become quite the gamer. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
So, no I’m not really making bank at ECU. I wish I have applied to approximately 25 jobs and none of them have called me back. I signed up for a study not knowing if I’d get paid or not. I had to wear this:
Basically it’s a pedometer but it has a usb port on the side so that the data can be uploaded to a computer and statistical information can be calculated from that data.
So, it has been a terribly long time since I’ve updated this thing. I can’t really say that I have much to say, but I can sum up most of my gone time through pictures, so here are a few!
I never feel like blogging anymore and never really have time for it, but I just got back from HOSA States & I should have a video from there soon that I’ll put on here. But we got 3rd in the state and now we’re going to nationals! So excited!
